am i missing something, or does esther have something she really needs to tell us? this is a cool God-instanse, as my wife would say. my wife is working on the series. my cousin, who i have just become friends with on facebook, is doing it. not to mention, a fellow blogger is doing the series. plus, they all have started in the last week or two. now how cool is that?

i am headed to franklin, tn, in a few days with some fellow members of port city to attend ‘stream franklin‘ 2009 edition. to help prepare us for the weekend, ken young sent us a 5 days of preparation devotional. the scripture for yesterday was the one above. read it again, if you haven’t already. what an amazing confidence paul wrote with! a confidence we too can and should have. how reassuring is verse 39; “nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

if you are not the techo guy/girl for your church and you do not know about igniter media, then you are missing out! if you are not that person, then tell yours about this site, not this blog, but igniter media. they do have a blog, as well. here’s their blog’s link.

igniter is a company that specializes in media stuff for churches. one of the main guys is brandon scott thomas’ brother rob. many of you know about brandon’s association with the zoe group and the zoe conferences. if i had to guess, i bet rob has helped out there, too.

igniter has been giving away free stuff and its not junk they are just offloading. its good stuff that i use a lot at port city! i can’t wait to use their newest freebie; night sky.

give them a shot. you will be pleased. no regrets.

it sure has been a long time since i have been here. i have been working (like y’all) and everything else that goes along with that.

the season of sharing and being with family is here, and i have been so busy, i haven’t been with them. my daughter is here from college for Christmas break, and we haven’t done anything “father-daughter” yet.

yesterday was a tough day. we had a funeral for one of the sweetest ladies you would ever meet. she was in her 40’s and she is leaving a teenage daughter here. now allison didn’t just up and leave, but she had a tumor that sent her home early. the doctors were operating on her and everthing was going a-ok, and then something got in her blood stream right there at the end as they were closing, and it went and got to her heart, and then she was gone.

the funeral home was PACKED and it was SRO, buddy! not a dry eye in sight. she knew where she was going and she told everybody before she left for the surgery that if she did not get off the table she knew where she would wake up. now that is faith, buddy. i want that!

i hope all of you have a wonderful holiday season. i was going to change my theme to something festive and Christmasy for the only one i saw was the one that donna already is using, and i didn’t want her to think i was copying her.
